Helio P70's enhanced AI engine delivers a 10 to 30 percent AI processing boost compared to the Helio P60. "The introduction of Helio P70 continues MediaTek's commitment to deliver high-end smartphone features and advanced technology for the mass market." "With an enhanced AI engine that works seamlessly across the CPU and GPU, Helio P70 delivers much faster performance for AI applications and is still highly power efficient," said TL Lee, General Manager of MediaTek's Wireless Communication business unit. LITTLE configuration.įor an additional power boost, the chipset has an improved Arm Mali-G72 MP3 GPU operating at up to 900 MHz, which provides a 13 percent performance improvement compared to the Helio P60. To maximize the performance of demanding AI applications, the chipset packs four Arm Cortex-A73 2.1 GHz processors and four Arm Cortex-A53 2.0 GHz processors in an octa-core big. The introduction of the Helio P70 follows the global launch of the Helio P60 earlier this year, and builds on its hallmark features to power the "New Premium" market of full-featured smartphones at affordable price points.īuilt with TSMC's 12nm FinFET technology, the Helio P70 features a multi-core APU operating at up to 525 MHz for fast and efficient edge-AI processing. The Helio P70 packs all these upgrades into an ultra power-efficient chipset to meet the most demanding user needs. Helio P70 also comes with upgraded imaging and camera support, a gaming performance boost and advanced connectivity features. The Helio P70 is slated to be available in consumer devices by November this year.New Delhi, Oct 24 (NewsVoir): MediaTek today announced the launch of the Helio P70 system-on-chip (SoC), with an enhanced AI engine combined with CPU and GPU upgrades for more powerful AI processing. There are three ISPs that are said to help conserve power by 18 percent over previous generation Helio dual-camera setups. OEMs can either use a 32MP single camera or 24+16MP dual cameras when using the new SoC on their devices. It is said to have better face detection with up to 90 percent accuracy. With AI in its sights, the MediaTek Helio P70 supports an array of AI-based photo and video features like real-time beautification, scene detection and artificial reality (AR). It supports dual 4G VoLTE and comes with MediaTek’s smart antenna technology, which is said to automatically use the best antenna combination to sustain signal quality. The Helio P70 also features a 4G LTE modem and claims to deliver up to 300MBit/s of download speeds. In order to keep the temperature under check, it comes with Energy Aware Scheduling+ thermal management solution. The new SoC is said to consume 35 percent less power when playing games and the company says it’s optimized to reduce frame-rate jitter and improve latency for touch controls and display visuals. In terms of GPU, the Helio P70 fetaures an Arm Mali-G72 MP3 that can clock speeds of up to 900 MHz. These cores are used in big.LITTLE configuration. The CPU comes with four Arm Cortex-A73 cores that run at 2.1 GHz processors and four Arm Cortex-A53 cores clocked at 2.0 GHz. Built on MediaTek’s NeuroPilot platform, it supports common AI frameworks, including TensorFlow, TF Lite, Caffe, Caffe2 and other custom third-party offerings. It can figure out and enhance video call quality when on a limited bandwidth. MediaTek says that the chip can handle more complex AI applications like real-time human pose recognition and AI-based video encoding. To handle AI tasks, the chip comes equipped with an AI Processing Unit (APU) that is clocked at 525MHz. The new chip is manufactured on a 12nm process and comes with overclocked CPU and GPU. It is the successor to the MediaTek Helio P60 and is said to deliver an improvement of 10 to 30 percent when performing AI-based tasks, and a 13 percent boost on general tasks over its predecessor. MediaTek has launched its new Helio P70 chipset, which brings better AI processing with upgraded CPU and GPU for enhanced performance.
